Good News
It might be hard to believe, but there has been good news this year. I'm going to share some of mine now. It would bring me tremendous delight if you'd send along yours as well. I'm cherishing every cause for celebration, now more than ever. As for my good news: First, I learned that my new middle-grade novel, SUMMER OF STOLEN SECRETS, will come out in May. I've been trying for eons to write a book based on my childhood in Baton Rouge, when my family owned a department store downtown and my formidable grandmother ran the show. SUMMER OF STOLEN SECRETS is, finally, that book. Here's a sneak peek at the cover, which practically no one else in the world has seen yet:
I'm sure we'll eventually discuss SUMMER OF STOLEN SECRETS on the Book Dreams podcast, which I'm now co-hosting with fellow children's book author Eve Yohalem. Which brings me to my favorite good news for the year: Book Dreams launched! I've loved creating this podcast with Eve and sharing episodes with listeners. If you haven't checked it out yet, please do. To celebrate this source of joy in a bleak time, and to thank all of you who've been a part of it, we've put together some clips from among our favorite moments. Just press play on the audio below to take a listen.
We've also included a transcript, in case you don't have time (roughly 7 minutes) to listen. Wishing you wonderful holidays and a new year filled with health, happiness, and hope. All the very best, Julie www.juliesternberg.com www.bookdreamspodcast.com
