ABOUT
Our dog, Clementine, enjoys eating bugs and rolling over dead frogs.
It took me forever to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. People would say, "Follow your passions," and I would think, Passions? I don't have any passions. I just sit around and read books. One day it finally dawned on me: Ohhhh ... BOOKS. BOOKS are my passion. That's when I started writing them.
I like creating my own stories, and I like sharing those of others, too. I've particularly enjoyed recording the childhood stories of other authors, first for my initial podcast and then for Play Memory, the resource Marcie Colleen and I have developed for middle-school classrooms. I've gathered more stories with Eve Yohalem in Book Dreams, our podcast for everyone who loves books and has ever wondered about them.
What else? I grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with two brothers and a sister, all of whom played and had friends while I did nothing but read books. I live in Brooklyn, New York, now, with my husband and two daughters and our dog, Clementine, who enjoys eating bugs and rolling over dead frogs.
